Purpose of the Kinesiology Department

The department of Kinesiology at CSUN is at the forefront in the study of human movement. We offer a comprehensive education toward the Bachelor and Master of Science degrees with the newest and most comprehensive facilities in the CSU system.

Degree programs in Kinesiology at CSUN encompass the art and science of human movement. We emphasize theory and back it with experience. We maximize interaction between students and faculty by keeping class sizes down to an average of 30-40 students.

All-new laboratories enhance research & learning experiences in:

  • Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Athletic Training
  • Motor Behavior/Motor Leaning
  • Adapted Physical Activity

These state-of-the-art research facilities are also teaching stations - in addition to our more traditional classrooms, three large gymnasia, a dance studio, two pools, the world renowned Center of Achievement for the Physically Disabled, and expansive outdoor fields and courts.
